Temporary voicemail will direct callers during an eight-hour service outage on July 11.
The City of Kingston is advising residents of a scheduled phone service interruption on Saturday, July 11.
The city says its phone system will experience a temporary outage from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. During that time, affected phone lines will use a temporary voicemail message to help direct callers to the appropriate service.
Residents calling during the interruption are asked to listen to the full message and select the option that best matches their needs. Callers will then be directed to the regular voicemail menu for that service.
The city says the scheduled interruption is part of planned phone system work.
Regular phone service will resume once the maintenance is complete.
