Kingston Police say this was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
Ontario's Special Investigations Unit is looking into the circumstances surrounding police-involved shooting on the Waaban Crossing.
Kingston Police were called to an area on the bridge Wednesday around 9:45 am.
Media Relations Officer Cst. Anthony Colangeli says there will be no access for vehicular or pedestrian traffic at this time.
Colangeli says this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety.
However, there has been no information provided about the incident itself.
Residents living in the area of John Counter Blvd east of Montreal St will still be able to access the road.
