The President of St. Lawrence heads an organization made up of Ontario's community colleges.
The President of St. Lawrence College has been named Chair of the Ontario Regional Economic & Workforce Innovation Network.
Glenn Vollebregt took over from outgoing chair George Burton on Feb 2. Burton was the former president and CEO of Canadore College in North Bay and was the first chair at OREWIN.
In a news release, Vollebregt will lead the OREWIN coalition of small, northern, and rural colleges as they work together to Protect Ontario by strengthening the provincial workforce and economy.
OREWIN was established in 2025 to harnesses the strengths of Ontario's community colleges in promoting and protecting the workforce, communities, industry partners, and Ontario’s role as Canada’s economic engine.
Vollebregt said in a statement that colleges are anchors in Ontario’s small, northern, and rural communities. He said a unified voice is essential to advancing the shared priorities of our members.
