First-time candidate Annie Palone won in Monday's municipal election.
An urban designer is one of the new faces on Kingston City Council.
Annie Palone won in the Sydenham district on election night Monday. This was her first try in running for public office in any capacity.
Palone says she is happy with the support she has received from residents.
Palone succeeds Conny Glenn who ran for the mayor's seat in this election and won.
Palone hints things may have been different if Glenn had chosen to seek re-election in Sydenham.
But now that the two will be serving on council together, Palone says she is looking forward to working with the incoming mayor.
Palone says there are many things at city council that she will like to deal with once they begin the new term.
The new council will be officially sworn-on on November 24.
