Three people are facing charges after search warrants were executed in Kingston, Vaughan, and St. Catherine's.
Kingston Police have uncovered a major drug operation with connections to Toronto and Niagara areas.
The investigation called Project Harbour began in November of 2025 to look into the trafficking of fentanyl in Kingston. They identified one individual that investigators say was bringing in fentanyl from the Greater Toronto Area.
They executed a search warrant at a home on Castell Rd back on May 21 and found 2,116 grams of fentanyl. There was also 93 grams of cocaine, a handgun with ammunition, and $62,835 in cash.
Police Chief Adam MacIntosh and Acting Inspector Jeff Thompson held a news conference on Friday to announce that 43-year-old and a 32-year-old, both from Kingston, were arrested and are facing a number of charges.
Another search warrant was executed during a traffic stop in Port Hope that day. Inside the vehicle was another 86 grams of fentanyl.
They also collaborated with other local police forces in executing search warrants at properties St. Catherine's, and Vaughan. Investigators say they seized 10,957 grams of methamphetamine, 8,746 grams of 1-phenyl-2-propanone (P2P) (a precursor used in the production of methamphetamine), 9,000 grams of caffeine used as a cutting agent, a pill press, some precious metals including gold, silver, and copper, and cash.
A 23-year-old from St. Catharine's was arrested and is also facing a number of charges.
MacIntosh says this was a lengthy investigation that required cooperation from a number of police forces.
MacIntosh says Project Harbour was just a piece of the bigger picture when it comes to stopping the drug trade.
MacIntosh says drug busts like this one won't deter drug traffickers but it's important to stop them from growing.
