Kingston residents and visitors will want to keep an eye on the sky Tuesday as the Canadian Forces Snowbirds make a flyover of the city.
The iconic Royal Canadian Air Force demonstration team is scheduled to pass over the Kingston waterfront around 5pm during its final season flying the CT-114 Tutor.
The red-and-white jets have been used by the Snowbirds since 1971 and have become one of Canada’s most recognizable aviation symbols.
The Tutor fleet will be retired after the 2026 season following more than six decades of military service.
The federal government has announced plans to replace the aircraft with the CT-157 Siskin II, although the next generation of the Snowbirds is not expected to become operational until the early 2030s.
Tuesday’s Kingston appearance offers local residents another opportunity to see the current aircraft before they disappear from the skies.
The Snowbirds are also scheduled to appear at Aero Gatineau-Ottawa later this week as their farewell season continues across Canada.
