The crash occurred Wednesday morning in the eastbound lanes near Sydenham Rd.
Five people, including an infant, were transported to hospital following a six-vehicle collision on Highway 401 in Kingston on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. The crash occurred in the eastbound lanes near Sydenham Road just before 8 a.m.
Frontenac OPP officers were joined at the scene by Frontenac Paramedics and the Kingston Fire Department. Preliminary reports indicate the collision was caused when one driver lost control of their vehicle, setting off a chain-reaction crash that involved five passenger vehicles and a tractor-trailer.
Authorities say the hospitalized individuals sustained either minor injuries or were checked out as a precaution. While the highway remained open, temporary lane closures were implemented to ensure public safety and allow emergency crews to work.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing. Officials are urging anyone with information about the collision to contact the Frontenac OPP.
