Emergency crews were called to the St. Lawrence River near Milton Island after a man fell from a boat and did not resurface.
Frontenac County OPP received a distress call on Monday about the incident. The man reportedly struck his head on the boat’s propeller after falling into the water.
The OPP Marine Unit launched from Portsmouth Olympic Harbour to begin the search, supported by the Canadian Coast Guard and the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC). The OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) had also been called in to assist with the ongoing operation.
The investigation remains ongoing.
