Dr. Alan Drummond says he is calling for action.
Emergency Room Physician Dr. Alan Drummond is calling for more bed capacity and quickened access to long-term care homes in a bid for less hospital strain.
In a video for the Ontario Medical Association, Drummond says it's been a decades-long issue.
He said one part of the solution is simple.
No matter the case, Drummond is calling for action, not just words.
Rural hospitals especially are operating at or beyond 100% capacity, with Drummond saying nearly 40% of beds being claimed by seniors waiting for long-term suites to be available.
