The City of Kingston has announced the 2025 recipients of its Rural Community Program Fund, with five local events and programs each receiving up to $5,000 in funding.
The funded projects are the Fall Pumpkin Smashing Event, Sounds of the Pines, Grass Creek Disc Golf Course, Honeybee Festival, and Drawn to Nature – Rural Art Party. These events aim to bring rural communities together, celebrate local culture, and offer fun activities for all ages.
To celebrate the recipients, a public event will be held on Thursday, May 29 at 10 a.m. at the Glenburnie Fire Hall Community Centre. Residents are encouraged to attend, meet the organizers, and learn more about the upcoming events.
The City also thanked the Rural Advisory Committee for helping shape the fund to better serve Kingston’s rural areas.
