Cataraqui Conservation has cancelled its Maple Madness event for March 29 and 30 due to the pending spring storm and the freezing rain it is expected to bring to our listening area.
Officials say the weather will make conditions unsafe for visitors and staff.
The annual festival, held at Little Cataraqui Creek Conservation Area, is a favourite spring tradition featuring maple syrup demonstrations and outdoor fun.
However, organizers say the decision to cancel was necessary for safety.
Guests who had registered for this weekend’s program are advised to check their email for further details.
While this weekend’s events are cancelled, future Maple Madness dates remain on schedule, weather permitting.
