Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision.
A 26-year-old Belleville man has died following a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian Monday morning.
Belleville Police, Fire and Hastings-Quinte Paramedics were called to the intersection of Bridge Street East and Herchimer Avenue at about 10:14 a.m. after reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a vehicle. Police later confirmed the man was riding an e-scooter at the time.
Police said the man was transported to Belleville General Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by medical staff.
The intersection was closed for several hours as emergency crews responded and investigators examined the scene.
Belleville Police say the investigation into the fatal collision is ongoing. No further information about the circumstances of the crash has been released at this time.
