A 19-year-old person has died after a house fire south of Odessa.
Emergency crews were called to a home on Millhaven Road near Caton Road in Loyalist Township shortly before 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Ontario Provincial Police, Loyalist Township firefighters, neighbouring fire departments and county paramedics responded.
Police say the house was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived. One person was initially unaccounted for and was later found dead during the investigation.
Firefighters remained at the scene for several days as officials worked to determine what caused the blaze. The Ontario Fire Marshal’s Office is leading the investigation.
