Mark Gerretsen says Liberals will make life cheaper with new tax cuts and housing plan
Liberal candidate for Kingston and the Islands Mark Gerretsen is promoting his party’s plan to lower costs for Canadians while growing the economy.
In a social media statement, Gerretsen said the Liberals are “putting more money back in your pocket and building the fastest-growing economy in the G7—together.”
The plan includes scrapping the carbon tax, which Gerretsen says will save Canadians 18 cents per litre on gas. It also promises a middle-class tax cut, saving dual-income households up to $825 annually.
The Liberals say they will double the pace of housing construction, eliminate GST on first-time home purchases under $1 million, and expand dental care for 4.5 million Canadians. They estimate the dental plan alone will save families $800 per year.
A Liberal Party statement says Mark Carney’s leadership will cut middle-class taxes, stand up to U.S. tariffs, and create jobs while Conservatives focus on “divisive cuts.”
