Kingston Police are warning drivers to avoid Taylor Kidd Boulevard after a collision forced the closure of the busy stretch between Centennial Drive and Princess Street.
The road is currently shut down in both directions, and traffic is being detoured. Police say drivers should expect heavy congestion and plan travel in advance.
An emergency alert posted on Alertable.ca advises motorists to use alternate routes or follow posted detours while the scene is cleared. The alert will stay in effect until the road reopens, and an update will be issued once more information becomes available.
Police are reminding residents not to call 911 for traffic updates and to follow the directions of local authorities.
Drivers who are not in the area are being asked to stay away to help reduce delays.
