Stone Mills, Kingston, Greater Napanee, and Quinte West will be competing with firefighters from around the world.
Some of the best area firefighters are in Tamworth this weekend.
The 2025 FireFit Southern Ontario Regionals are happening Saturday and Sunday at the Tamworth Fire Station on County Rd. 4 (Addington St.).
Stone Mills Fire Captain Lianne McAuley says the event has a series of obstacle courses based on the training firefighters receive.
McAuley says this event puts those skills to the test.
Individuals and teams from fire departments in Kingston, Stone Mills, Greater Napanee, Brockville, Perth, Tyendinaga and Quinte West will be competing in the regionals.
McAuley say there will also be other firefighters in Ontario, Canada and around the world competing in Tamsworth.
The event will also feature vendors and activities that are open to the public.
McAuley hopes to have a good showing in front of the people they serve.
Winners from the regionals go to compete in the national and world championships in St. Catharine's in September (10 to 14).
