New results show the board’s best performance in four years, with gains across every grade and subject.
The Limestone District School Board is reporting its strongest EQAO results in four years, marking widespread gains for students from Grades 3 to 10. The board says scores rose in every testing category for the 2024-25 school year, with many results matching or surpassing provincial averages.
Officials say the improvements reflect steady growth across all eight areas of assessment, including Reading, Writing and Math. Students with special education needs also saw significant gains, particularly in Grade 3 and Grade 6.
Director of Education Krishna Burra says the results highlight the daily work of teachers, educational assistants and school leaders who have focused on evidence-based instruction and targeted student support.
Grade 3 scores increased between five and eight percentage points, while Grade 6 students achieved strong gains in Reading and Writing and matched the province in Math. Grade 9 Math remains slightly below provincial levels, but improved five points over last year. The Grade 10 literacy test saw 95 per cent participation and an 84 per cent success rate.
Board officials say they plan to continue strengthening instruction, early intervention and classroom support to maintain the momentum.
