Plan your route accordingly!
The City of Kingston are laying out plans for the first LaSalle Causeway lift of the 2025 season.
In a news release, the first operational lift will take place next Saturday (April 19) from 9 am to 12 midnight.
The City says that during that time, the bridge will not be open to vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic.
It was announced on Monday that the City will be implementing mitigation strategies in order to address possible traffic congestion and provide alternate travel options.
They include: monitoring and adjusting traffic light timing along affected routes, including Montreal St., John Counter Blvd., and Highway 15, and establishing flexible transit routing during lift operations to minimize impacts to riders.
The City is encouraging those who regularly use the causeway to plan ahead.
More information can be found by going to the City of Kingston's website.
The LaSalle Causeway is owned and operated by Public Services and Procurement Canada.
