Tourism Kingston is being recognized for its efforts to be environmentally sustainable.
The City's visitor information centre recently received gold certification from Canada's GreenStep Sustainable Tourism program.
The Visitor Information Centre received 144.77 out of a possible score of 168.
GreenStep measured its achivements in 19 categories, from sustainable purchasing policies to promotion of eco-friendly programs and guest engagement.
In a news release, Tourism Kingston says they source almost 75 per cent of its products from local suppliers.
The visitor information centre has a bike repair station and a water refill station.
The announcement comes ahead of World Environmental Health Day on Friday.
