Kingston's hidden food gems take centre stage in new TV series

New show shines a spotlight on local restaurants and culinary talent.

A new television series celebrating Kingston's growing food scene made its debut on Bell Fibe TV1 on June 4.

Recommendations is a six-episode food-focused series filmed entirely in Kingston that highlights some of the city's most popular restaurants and food businesses. Hosted by Chris Seeney and Corey Palmer, the show explores the stories, people and signature dishes that help define the local culinary landscape.

One of the hosts/producer, Corey Palmer explains the reason they chose Kingston was due to a connection producer Scott Paterson had.

Throughout the season, viewers will get a behind-the-scenes look at several Kingston eateries, including Otter Creek Kitchen, Toast & Jam, Miss Bao, The Everly, Tommy's Diner and Smoke 'N' Barrel. Palmer says that each restaurant had amazing quality.

The series aims to showcase the diversity and creativity of Kingston's restaurant community while introducing audiences to the chefs, owners and staff behind some of the city's favourite dining destinations. Palmer explains more.

Recommendations premieres June 4 on Bell Fibe TV1, Channel 1, and through the Fibe TV App. Producers say the series offers a fresh look at the people and businesses helping make Kingston a destination for food lovers.
