City opens nominations for 2026 Livable City Design Awards celebrating projects that improve community life
The City of Kingston is asking residents to help recognize the people and projects shaping a more vibrant and livable community through the 2026 Livable City Design Awards.
Held every three years, the awards celebrate buildings, public spaces and landscape projects that stand out for their urban design, architecture and positive impact on daily life in Kingston.
City officials say projects could include new housing developments, heritage restoration work, parks, mixed-use spaces or other designs that help residents connect, move around more easily and enjoy the city.
Manager of Policy Planning Sukriti Agarwal said the awards are meant to highlight projects that have improved Kingston’s livability over the past three years.
Anyone can nominate a public or private project completed between Jan. 1, 2023, and Dec. 31, 2025.
Nominations must be submitted by 4 p.m. on June 30. Eligible entries will be reviewed by a panel of experts this summer, while the public will vote later this year for a People’s Choice Award.
