Garbage collection, transit and several city services will be affected on Labour Day, with some facilities remaining open.
Kingston residents can expect several changes to city services on Labour Day, Sept. 7.
Garbage pick-up:
There will be no garbage or green bin collection that day. Collection will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week. Residents can sign up for collection reminders through the City of Kingston or the free Kingston Waste app.
Transit:
Kingston Transit will operate on a Sunday schedule, while limited Kingston Access Bus service will be available. Its trip reservation office will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
Stores:
Most grocery stores will be open with special hours. LCBO will be closed and most beer stores will be closed.
Facilities:
City administrative offices, recreation facilities, the Kingston Disposal Site and all Kingston Frontenac Public Library branches will be closed.
Utilities Kingston and Kingston Hydro will also be closed, although their 24-hour emergency line remains available at 613-546-1181.
Portsmouth Olympic Harbour will remain open, while the Confederation Basin Marina office and laundry facilities will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
