Officers were credited with containing the situation quickly.
Two individuals are facing charges after Kingston Police were called about a disturbance in the university district.
Officers went to an area of Division St and Garrett St around 6:30 pm Wednesday.
Investigators say there were a number of individuals and believe the use of weapons were involved.
They say effective communication and de-escalation efforts resulted in the situation being contained safely.
There is no word on what weapons were used in the incident and whether there were any injuires.
The two people were arrested and held for a bail hearing.
