Changes also bringing savings of up to 50% per trip
Starting today, April 1, 2025, Kingston Transit will implement fare increases and introduce new services to improve the customer experience. These changes, approved by City Council in December 2024, include multi-ride and monthly passes offering savings of up to 50% per trip.
Despite fare increases, several key fares remain unchanged. Children under 14, high school students with passes, and CNIB cardholders will continue to receive free or discounted fares. The most notable change is the transfer system, which now offers 90 minutes of unlimited travel for a single fare, allowing for more flexibility.
Additionally, Kingston Transit will enhance its service with expanded routes, a more accessible call centre, and updated on-board displays. New stations on high-traffic routes will improve comfort while waiting. For more details on the new fares and passes, visit www.KingstonTransit.ca.
