Sport Tourism Canada is out with a list of the 2026 Prestige Awards categories and one of our own is a finalist.
Garry McColman, AKA Big G (right of photo) of Big G and Matty on New Country 98.9, is one of nominees in the Sport Tourism Volunteer of the Year category.
The award recognizes the outstanding contributions of an individual’s volunteer efforts during the hosting of one or more sport events in Canada that occurred in 2025.
Big G says the nomination came as a total surprise to him. He adds he is extremely honoured to be one of the nominees in all of Canada.
The winners will be announced during the awards gala on March 11 in Mississauga.
