Staff at a store were threatened then assaulted as the individual was allegedly shoplifting.
Kingston Police have made an arrest in connection to a robbery at a downtown business.
Staff notified police after someone walked into the store in the Princess St-Barrie St area Saturday around 5:30 pm and proceeded to take items and conceal them.
Investigators say a staff member tried to confront the individual but was allegedly threaten then assaulted. The individual also claimed to have a weapon.
Minutes after the call, officers arrived and quickly took the person into custody. An 18-year-old faces a number of charges.
The incident occurred in the same area around the same time as another arrest. But investigators say the two incidents are not related.
However, officers were also quick to respond to the call and made the arrest within minutes.
