Jumpstart Inclusive Playground officially opened Saturday at Shannon Park following a collaborative community project.
Children of all abilities now have access to a new inclusive play space in Kingston following the official opening of the Jumpstart Inclusive Playground at Shannon Park on Saturday.
Representatives from the City of Kingston, Inclusive Play Project and Jumpstart Canadian Tire Charities gathered Sept. 12 to celebrate the completion of the playground.
The event was held at 11 a.m. at Shannon Park, located at 199 Wilson St., across from Rideau Heights Public School.

Mayor Bryan Paterson and Lori Gagnon of Jumpstart Canadian Tire Charities also attended the ceremony.
The playground was created to provide children and families with an accessible space where children of all abilities can play together.
Doornekamp explains this project couldn't have come together without the communities support.
The opening marks the transition of the project from development to a new community resource now available to Kingston residents.
