Treated and released
A Kingston police officer is recovering in hospital after being attacked while on routine patrol Friday morning.
At about 8 a.m. on September 12, 2025, an officer with the Kingston Police Patrol Division spotted an individual trying to break into a vehicle near Division Street and Stanley Street.
When the officer intervened, the person became combative and physically assaulted the officer, even trying to disarm the officer during the struggle.
Additional officers quickly responded and were able to bring the situation under control. The suspect was taken into custody.
The injured officer was transported to hospital and treated for injuries before being released.
Police have confirmed the suspect will face charges, though details have not yet been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
