Teal Up campaign and 50/50 fundraiser support local military children through May 6.
April is being marked as the Month of the Military Child, recognizing the resilience and experiences of young people growing up in military families.
The Kingston Military Family Resource Centre says the month highlights the need for strong community support for military children and youth in the region.
As part of the campaign, the centre is continuing its Teal Up initiative and an online 50/50 fundraiser running until May 6.
The fundraiser gives residents a chance to win half the jackpot while supporting programs that benefit military families.
Organizers say funds raised will help deliver services designed to support children facing frequent moves, family separations, and other challenges tied to military life.
The centre is encouraging the public and local media to raise awareness and take part.
