85 percent of residents of Indian Rd say they reject the four proposed new names.
It appears not everyone living on Indian Rd in Kingston wants to change the name of their street.
Councillor Jeff McLaren released the results of a survey on Friday.
In a news release from the Meadowbrook-Strathcona District Councillor, McLaren went to all 59 households on Indian Rd and asked them about the four proposed names being considered to replace Indian Rd. The four names are: Aki, Binesi, Nookomis, or Odamino.
He says 85 percent of households rejected all the four names, most don't want to see the name of the street changed at all. Of those that want the name change, they would prefer one that is easy to pronounce.
McLaren says just about every resident on Indian Rd he has spoken with claim they were not asked whether they want to change the name Indian Rd.
City Council last June voted in favour of pursuing the name change. A staff report is to be delivered to Council on Tuesday.
