Joint police investigation underway
Police believe two recent home invasions in Kingston and Wolfe Island may be connected and are urging the public for more information.
On August 22, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a home invasion on Road 96, Wolfe Island, where residents were assaulted and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
A month later, on September 23, Kingston Police responded to a similar incident near Frontenac Street and Brock Street. Two people were seriously injured but are expected to recover.
Authorities suspect the incidents were targeted attacks. In both cases, the attacker fled before police arrived.
The joint OPP and Kingston Police team is asking anyone with relevant information or doorbell and dashcam footage to come forward.
Residents are reminded to stay vigilant by keeping doors and windows locked and being aware of their surroundings. Anonymous tips can be provided through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS or online at ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
