Rainfall is expected to total 20 to 30 millimetres, with melting snow making local flooding more likely. Frozen ground will struggle to absorb water, and low-lying areas and roads could see pooling. The rain will begin Thursday night change over to flurries late Friday morning as temperatures fall quickly below freezing.
Strong southwesterly to westerly winds could gust up to 90 kilometres per hour, especially near Lake Ontario. These gusts may cause local power outages and require residents to secure loose objects.
Drivers and pedestrians are warned that icy roads and walkways may make travel difficult, particularly during the afternoon snow squalls behind a passing cold front.
