The Frontenac, Lennox and Addington Ontario Health Team (FLA OHT) is hosting a free community event later this month to help residents better manage chronic illness.
The “Living Well Together” event will take place April 22 from 5:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts in Kingston.
The evening will begin with a community fair featuring more than 20 local organizations. Attendees can learn about services such as transportation, fitness programs, oxygen support and chronic disease education.
A panel discussion will follow at 6:30 p.m., focusing on managing heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.
Organizers say the goal is to give people practical tools and connect them with local supports. Experts from across the region will share information and answer questions.
The event is free and open to the public, but advance registration is required. Organizers note it is intended for education, not emergency care.
