The closure is to remove modular bridge allowing for boats to pass through channel.

Transport Canada has approved the 2025 lift schedule for the temporary LaSalle Causeway bridge in Kingston.
The bridge will lift on most Sundays between June 8 and November 16. Additional lifts will happen on Canada Day (July 1) and Thanksgiving Tuesday (October 14).
On each of these days, road closures begin at 6 a.m. and end at 10 p.m. Marine navigation runs from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Full lift dates for 2025 are:
June: 8, 15, 22, 29
July: 1, 6, 13, 20, 27
August: 3, 10, 17, 24, 31
September: 7, 21
October: 5, 14, 19
November: 2, 16
Lifts may be postponed if wind speeds exceed 28 km/h. Emergency lifts can occur at any time.
A real-time draft clearance system will be installed at the eastern entrance, with live data posted online and on site.
