Earlier this month, staff at Collins Bay Institution seized contraband and unauthorized items during a security search.
Correctional Service Canada said items found included tobacco, marijuana, crystal methamphetamine, and a cell phone accessory. The estimated institutional value of the seizure is about $126,550.
Correctional Service Canada says the seizure was made possible through staff vigilance and ongoing security measures.
The agency uses ion scanners, detector dogs, and regular searches of buildings, inmates, visitors, and property to prevent drugs and other contraband from entering federal institutions.
