Family-friendly event on May 23 showcases equipment, crews and city services at Division Street headquarters.
The City of Kingston will host its annual Public Works Day open house on Saturday, May 23, inviting residents to explore the work behind city services.
The family-friendly event runs from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Public Works headquarters at 701 Division Street as part of National Public Works Week.
Visitors will see city vehicles and equipment, take part in hands-on activities and learn about services including road maintenance, transit and solid waste.
Staff from Public Works, Kingston Transit and Utilities Kingston will be on site to speak with the public and demonstrate operations.
The event highlights how crews maintain roads, manage winter operations, plant trees and support community clean-ups throughout the year.
Parking will be available at the Railway Street entrance, while the Division Street entrance will be closed during the event.
Officials say the open house is a family-friendly way to learn more about city services and meet local staff in person.
