One person died in a 5-vehicle crash last September.
A Brantford driver is facing serious charges after a fatal five-vehicle crash on Highway 401 near Napanee in September 2024.
Ontario Provincial Police say the collision happened around 10 p.m. on Sept. 18, between County Road 5 and the Switzerville Road overpass. The crash involved two transport trucks and three passenger vehicles. Emergency crews from Lennox and Addington OPP, Napanee Fire, and local paramedics responded to the scene when the crash occurred.
One person was pronounced dead at the scene, while several others were taken to hospital with injuries.
After an extensive investigation, police arrested 25-year-old Gursewak Singh of Brantford on May 8, 2025. He is charged with dangerous operation causing death and two counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
Singh was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in Court in Greater Napanee on June 3, 2025.
