Bruce Geddes takes over from Krista Foss who stepped down earlier this week.
Kingston WritersFest have their third different Festival Director in the last three months.
The festival announced on Wednesday that they have named Bruce Geddes to the position effective immediately.
He take over from Krista Foss who resigned because of personal reasons. Foss was appointed as Festival Director in February succeeding Merilyn Simonds.
Geddes is an author, journalist, and experienced non-profit leader. He has served on the Board of Directors of the Tett Centre for Creativity and Learning, including in leadership roles as Treasurer and Vice Chair.
In a news release, Geddes has been an active member of the local arts and culture community since arriving in Kingston in 2022. He says it is an honour to be part of the local culture and is excited for the opportunity.
The 18th edition of Kingston WritersFest goes October 1 to 4 at the Marriott Hotel in downtown Kingston.
