One lucky winner will take home at least $20,000, the other half goes to the help students and families in need.
Someone in Eastern Ontario is going to win big money.
In a little over a week, June 22, the Algonquin Lakeshore Catholic Education Foundation will draw a number in their annual 50-50 raffle. The jackpot as of June 9 is $20,000.
Chair of the foundation Leila Goyer says tickets will move fast as they head into the final week of sales.
The money raised from the raffle goes to the foundation that helps catholic school students and their families who are need of financial assistance.
This is the second year that the foundation has held a 50-50 raffle after trying other ways to raise funds.
Goyer says the 50-50 turned out to be a success so the foundation decided to do it again in 2026. There were three winners in 2025 including a Kingston couple that won $33,778.50.
The last day to purchase tickets is Friday June 19. Tickets can be purchased by clicking on the link. (https://www.rafflebox.ca/raffle/alcefoundation)
