The Compton Park Music Festival brings local music, arts, and more to the College St. neighbourhood this Sunday.
One neighbourhood in Kingston is getting ready to host their annual music festival.
The Compton Park Music Festival is happening this Sunday featuring a line up of local musicians performing on stage.
Artistic Director Larissa Koniuk says she along with five other women put together this unique festival four years ago.
It is a day long event with live music, art, and family activities. Performances start at 2 pm and go until 7 pm.
Koniuk says the day begins with a special yoga session.
Main stage performers include: Savannah Shea, Yessica Rivera Belsham, Chantal Thompson, Mauricio Montecinos, Brass Over Tea Kettle, Caity with a C, Agum Wadhwa, and Kchi Tolba with Mance Granberg and Don Marlin. There will also be pop-up performances from the Kingston School of Dance, Canta Arya, Ruby Twigg and Maeve Burry.
For the kids, there is face painting, flower crown making, and crafts. There will also be food trucks and cold treats on site.
Koniuk says the festival is truly a local event.
Admission to the festival is free but people can donate on site or though e-transfer to: musicincomptonpark@gmail.com.
