No injuries were reported as Kingston Fire and Rescue battled the blaze.
No one was hurt when a house fire on Montreal St resulted in hundreds of thousand of dollars in damage.
Kingston Fire and Rescue were called to the single-detached, one-storey home near Sheppard St Tuesday night.
Crews arrived around 7:15 pm to find flames coming from the carport attached to the house.
Fire officials say the flames then spread through the soffit to the attic and ceiling areas.
They say three people were inside the home at the time of the fire and all managed to safely escape.
Damage is estimated to be around $400,000. Fire officials have not determined the cause of the fire.
A section of Montreal had been closed to traffic for several hours but has since reopened.
