Police described the investigation as sensitive and complex.
Brockville Police say a 17-year-old has been charged after three people were found dead inside a home Thursday morning.
Officers were called to a residence on Cartier Court around 11:30 a.m. after a 911 report of multiple deaths. Police say three individuals were found deceased inside the home, and the deaths were quickly deemed suspicious.
Investigators later received information that led them to a property on the outskirts of Brockville, where a local youth was taken into custody. Police say the accused faces three counts of first-degree murder, along with a charge of assaulting a police officer.
Authorities say the accused and the victims were known to one another, and stressed the incident was not random.
Police described the investigation as sensitive and complex, while acknowledging the impact on families, loved ones and the wider community.
The accused is scheduled to appear for a bail hearing Friday. Under the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the identity of the accused cannot be released.
Brockville Police are asking anyone with information to contact investigators at 613-342-0127 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS.
