The officer was en route to an emergency call when the cruiser collided with a vehicle on June 27.
A Kingston Police officer will not face criminal charges after an SIU investigation into a collision involving a police cruiser.
Ontario's Special Investigations Unit were called in after a cruiser en route to a call struck a civillian vehicle at the intersection of Brock Street and Victoria Street the morning of June 27.
A 71-year-old female driver of the civilian vehicle suffered a fractured sternum in the collision, and her passenger was diagnosed with two hematomas in the abdomen.
Investigators say the cruiser was operating at speed with its lights and siren activated.
They concluded that there are no reasonable grounds to charge the officer with a criminal offense.
