Krista Wells Pearce takes over from Leanna O'Mara as campaign chair.
The United Way Kingston, Frontenac, Lennox and Addington has announced a new campaign chair following a strong 2025 fundraising effort that brought in more than $4.1 million.
Outgoing chair Leanne O’Mara thanked volunteers and donors, highlighting the major role workplaces played in the campaign’s success.
She shared it was an honour to serve as campaign chair and see the incredible effort from our community, noting workplace campaigns made up 57 per cent of the total funds raised.
O'Mara then announced Krista Wells Pearce as the 2026 campaign chair. A longtime volunteer and healthcare leader, Wells Pearce brings more than two decades of experience and has been actively involved with the United Way through its board, campaign cabinet and Women United initiative.
The United Way said last year’s campaign supported more than 54,000 people across the region through local programs addressing food insecurity, housing, mental health and other urgent needs.
Wells Pearce said demand for services continues to grow.
The 2026 campaign is set to launch on Sept. 10, with organizers encouraging volunteers and workplaces to begin planning new fundraising ideas.
