Coffee sales and volunteers sought as annual fundraiser supports free leadership camps for young people.

Tim Hortons restaurant owners are encouraging community members to take part in Camp Day on July 15, with proceeds helping underserved youth attend Tim Hortons Foundation Camps at no cost.

Restaurant owner Sherri Agnew says the annual campaign helps change lives by giving young people access to leadership programs and opportunities they may not otherwise have.

The annual fundraiser will see 100 per cent of proceeds from hot and iced coffee sales, Take 12 purchases and Camp Day bracelets donated to Tims Camps.

Agnew says people who are not coffee drinkers can still support the fundraiser through other purchases.

The Tim Hortons Foundation Camps charity says it has supported more than 325,000 youth since 1974 through multi-year leadership programs. The organization says the programs help participants build life skills, pursue higher education opportunities and secure meaningful employment.

Funds raised on Camp Day help provide camp experiences for youth from underserved communities across Canada.
