Three foreign-born entrepreneurs in Kingston were recognized for their contribution to the local economy.
The Kingston Economic Development Corporation and Kingston Immigration Partnership announced the winners of the 4th annual Kingston Newcomer Entrepreneur Awards on Monday.
In a news release, the awards program reflects the ongoing commitment of the two organizations to foster an inclusive business environment where newcomers can thrive and contribute to Kingston’s economic prosperity.
V. Ophelia Rigault M.Ed of REAL Talk Solutions, originally from Trinidad, is the Community Builder of the Year. Start-up of the Year went to Dr. Siziwe Bebe of Demagel Inc and Bridgepoint Law's Ningjing (Natalie) Zhang, who arrived in Canada from Shanghai as a refugee in 2016, received the Inspirational Entrepreneur Award.
All three will be receiving their award at the KEDCO's annual general meeting next Monday, April 20.
