In a news release, Kingston Police say the willingness of their officers to answer the call for assistance exemplifies the commitment of police officers to support one another in times of unimaginable tragedy.
Staff Sergeant Carla Stacey was one of the officers who went down to New York the day after the attacks.
She says she felt honoured to contribute after witnessing the devastation adding it left an impression on her.
Staff Sergeant David Green was another officer who went to New York and says he remembers when people were lining the streets holding up signs in support of first responders.
Kingston Police are encouraging the community to pause and remember those who lost their lives, those who answered the call to help, and the enduring spirit of resilience that emerged in the face of tragedy.
