Applications are being accepted for Your Stories, Our History program.
The City of Kingston is encouraging community organizations to tell their stories in their own words in free exhibit spaces at City Hall. The exhibits within the program feature stories of the people, events or groups that have shaped Kingston.
It initially began in 2018 as a public engagement process to address the legacy of Sir John A. Macdonald. The program evolved in 2024, and now in its third year, it offers free exhibit space in niche cases at City Hall for the community to tell their stories.
Each year, the program features new exhibits with stories, photos, momentos, and small items. This year’s exhibits include stories from Joe’s Music Mill, Kingston's role in the 1976 Olympic Games, Limestone Beekeepers’ Guild, Kingston’s Drag community, and the Chinese Canadian Association of Kingston & District.
Applications can be submitted through Get Involved Kingston with the City reviewing them on a rolling basis.
