Rebecca Roy takes on the leadership role after six years with the township and nearly three decades of municipal experience.
South Frontenac Township has appointed longtime employee Rebecca Roy as its new Director of Development Services and Chief Building Official.
Roy has worked for the township for six years and brings more than 28 years of municipal experience to the position. She most recently served as Manager of Building Services and Chief Building Official, where she helped lead corporate initiatives and advised council and senior leadership on development, legislation, risk management and service improvements.
Roy says that the move to director happened naturally.
Chief Administrative Officer Louise Fragnito said Roy's knowledge of township policies, Ontario building codes and planning processes will help ensure a smooth transition. Fragnito also praised Roy's leadership and commitment to improving services.
In her new role, Roy will oversee development services while supporting sustainable growth, economic development and a customer-focused approach to serving residents.
Roy says she is excited to work with council, staff and the community as South Frontenac continues to grow.
She added she is committed to building on the team's success and delivering high-quality service.
Mayor Ron Vandewal says council looks forward to working with Roy to improve service delivery and streamline township processes for residents and businesses.
