It is happening this Saturday throughout the city.
The third Giveaway Day in Kingston is coming up.
It is happening this Saturday throughout the city and it is an opportunity for residents to get rid of unwanted items while allowing people to find free stuff to take home.
The City said in a news release that Giveaway Day is a way for people to save money and, at the same time, reduce items that would otherwise end up in landfills.
People who have things to giveaway must put them to the curb with a sign attached to it with the word "FREE".
Some things that are allowed during Giveaway Day include: Books, CDs, DVDs, furniture and small appliances, electronics, construction materials (including drywall, lumber, hardware), kitchen gadgets, dishes, cutlery, and pots and pans.
What's not allowed are: baby walkers, cribs, car seats, strollers, playpens, bath seats, mattresses, blinds and toys.
They say any items that were not picked up must be taken back inside.
More on Giveaway Day in Kingston can be found by going to the City's website.
